Wilburn "Willie" E. Hobbs, age 67 of Lansing, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday October 12, 2021. A Celebration Of Life for Wilburn will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until time of service. Wilburn was a proud Veteran of the United States Marines. In honor of Wilburn, Military Honors will be performed prior to the chapel service.

Wilburn is survived by his loving wife, Janice Hobbs; children, Adam (Lindsay) Hobbs of GA, Josh (Daphne) Hobbs of TN, and Greg (Natalie) Hobbs of TX; Step-children, Michael (Dongmei) O'Brien of IL, Jennifer (Venkat) Venkat of VA, and Amy (Jake) Dutton of  I L; several grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Ralph (Kristine) Davy, and Jack Tauber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Ann Marie Hobbs, sister, Debbie Tauber, daughter-in-law, Jessica Hobbs, and grandson, Lincoln Hobbs.

He was retired. He was a bus mechanic for over 40 years. He worked for Illinois School Bus Company and later with Pace Transit. Willie enjoyed working on cars, including his own muscle car, watching humming birds, listening to Rock and Roll, going to casinos, and helping his family and friends. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and he will be truly missed.
