Wendy K. McGrady (nee Davis) age 55 of Lansing, Illinois passed away peacefully Thursday, June 3, 2021. She is survive by her beloved husband Jim McGrady. Loving mother of Brittney McGrady (Tim Johnson), Sarah McGrady and grandchild Elijah/Lynn Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Wendy was preceded in death by her loving parents Lowell and Diane (nee Beckstead) Davis and cherished brother Troy Davis and so many others who she sat and cared for over the years, who she loved as if they were her own.

A memorial celebration of life for Wendy will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 P.M. until time of service.

Wendy's greatest joy came from providing daycare and nursery service to so many infants, toddlers and children who have become family. Wendy was a lifelong Girl Scout and leader and volunteer for many years in Lansing and Sauk Village. She spent a great deal of her time the past several years working to help the homeless and anyone in need. Going out several times a year to distribute bags packed with sandwiches, coats, blankets and clothes (especially socks because "everyone needs clean socks") directly to the people that needed them. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Community Closet located in the First Christian Church of Lansing, where she would help to organize, sort or help visitors find what they needed.

Wendy was loved by many and she will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers PLEASE consider committing to a day of service within your community, or making a contribution to a local pads shelter.
