Wade G. Palmer, age 90 of Crown Point, IN, passed away in his home on Monday, May 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He is the father of six children: Deborah (John) McGovern of Plano, IL, Michael (Sue) Palmer of Plano, IL, Bruce (Cindy) Palmer of Chicago Heights, IL, Lynn (Roger Sizemore) Crotty of Lowell, IN, Kimberly Campbell (Robert Alvarado) of Crown Point, IN, and Wade Palmer II. Wade was the grandfather of 16, great grandfather of 27, and great great grandfather of one. Wade was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis in February 1981 and son Wade Palmer II in July 1991.

Friends are invited to visit with Wade's family on Monday, May 18 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. There will be military honors and a prayer service lead by Father Patrick Lyons at 6:00PM.

Wade honorably served our country in the US Army . He retired from Commonwealth Edison. He was the owner/operator of Associated Air Activities FBO and instrument rated-multi engine commercial pilot. He did fundraising for the Crusade of Mercy sponsored thru Commonwealth Edison. He received the Master Pilot Award and Dedication to Aviation Award and former President of the Lansing, IL Copper Muggers.
