Victor R. Adams Sr., age 62 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years: Brenda (nee Riggans) Adams; six children: Flirtacia Riggans, Victor R. Adams Jr., John Q. Adams, Victoria Adams, Veronica Adams, and Cornelius (LaDonna) Adams Sr. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren: Ariana, Joslyn, Deanna, Donte, Joshua, Deangelo, Divine, Malik, Kobe, Maya, Jeremiah, Kaleal, and Cornelius Jr.; great grandson: Julian; brothers: Sammy Adams, Osei Adams, and John Quincy Adams; sister: Elice Powell; and closest friend Tony (Ernestine) Strickland.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents: John Q. Adams and Ruby M. (nee Steel); and brother: Conway, Quincy, and Cornelius.

Friends may visit at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Public visitation begins at 4:00 pm – 8:00 PM. Victor will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date.

Victor was a crane operator for ArcelorMittal Steel (formerly Inland Steel). He served in the US Marine Corps; he was a certified ASE Technician and loved working on cars. Victor was a 1977 graduate of Gary Roosevelt High School and he was a Chicago Bears and Bulls fan.
