Thomas Lampa, age 57, of Portage, IN passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 5, 2024, at home. He is survived by his loving mother Mary Ann Lampa, his son George Lampa, his sister Nancy (fiancé Richard Sneed) Tinsley, nephew Nicholas (Faith) Tinsley, great nephew Julius Tinsley, Aunt Virginia Plys, along with many cousins. He was preceded in death by his partner Cathy Maurer, father Stanley Lampa, and grandparents George and Mary Plys.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by procession to Holy Cross Cemetery.

Tom was born on January 9, 1967, and grew up in Hegewisch, IL and Calumet City, IL where he attended Thornton Fractional North High School. He was a dedicated employee of Atkore-Allied Tube & Conduit in Harvey, IL for over 29 years. He was a proud member of United Steelworkers Local 9777-18. He had a soft spot for his dogs Murphy and Speckles, whom he spoiled on a regular basis. He loved to spend time on his boat on Keeler Lake at his family's vacation home in Michigan.

He also enjoyed his motorcycles, working in his garage on various projects, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who would ask. He loved his family and cherished his friends in a way no one else could ever compare. The loss of Tom will be felt for years to come and he will be missed immensely. www.schroederlauer.com
