Theresa M. Richards, age 75 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022. She is survived by her beloved husband: Thomas Richards; three children: Carolyn Sluis, Donna (Steve) Wright, and Janet (Jeremy) Shapiro; grandchildren: Cassandra Sluis, Victoria Sluis, Joshua Sluis, Nicholas Wright, Rebecca Wright, John "Jack" Wright, Benjamin Shapiro, and Gabriel Shapiro. Also surviving are her sisters: Susan Modrak and Dorothy Duray. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents: Albert and Anna Konechni, and granddaughter: Jennifer Sluis.

Friends are invited to visit with Theresa's family on Tuesday, May 24 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Funeral services for Theresa will be held directly at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1849 Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN, for a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Theresa will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Orland Park, IL.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Theresa's name to the Daughters of Saint Francis of Assisi in Lacon, Illinois ( www.laconfranciscans.org) or Hunter's Hope ( www.huntershope.org) . This is an organization dedicated to helping families whose child has been diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, a fatal nervous system disease for which there is no treatment or cure.

Theresa was employed in retail sales at Kohl's Department Store.
