Tamara L. O'Neil (Reichert) 65 years young, of Lansing, IL quietly left us behind.  She is survived by her husband Bruce O'Neil of Lansing,IL, brother Todd Reichert of Webster, TX and nephews Brett Reichert of Austin, TX and Ryan Reichert of Carmel, IN.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mary Reichert.

Tammy retired from teaching special needs kids for the Echo Cooperative in Phoenix, IL for 25 years.  Upon graduating from Illinois State University, Tammy served as a band director for the Iroquois County School District in Crescent City, IL.  She later found her calling working with severely challenged kids not able to function in mainstream schools.  Tammy combined her passion for music with her passion for teaching "her" kids and started a small school choir.  For many of her students this was their first opportunity to participate in a school activity and perform for parents, family and friends, creating special memories for the students and their families.

A celebration of Tammy's life is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Schroeder Lauer Funeral Home located at 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 1:00 to 3:30 PM, with services immediatley following with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Lymphodema Network ( https://lymphnet.org/donate) would greatly be appreciated. Tamara was loved by many and she will be truly missed.
