Obituary

Shirley Ann Isbell, of Lansing, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026.

Shirley is the loving wife for over 60 years to the late Charles Isbell; devoted mother to Michael (Angela) Isbell and Donna (Dwayne) Anderson; proud grandmother to Samantha and Amanda Isbell; cherished sister to Diane (the late Jerry) Lyda and the late Thomas (Susan) Adzgowski; loving daughter to the late Dorothy and Bruno Adzgowski; aunt to many nieces and nephews;  sister-in-law to Lois (the late Jack) Berryhill; Joyce (William) Brown and Glen (Wendy) Isbell.

Shirley retired after over 20 years of service as the manager and supervisor of the Exxon Mobile Toll Plaza in South Holland. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Riverdale.  Shirley was an avid gardener, talented cook, liked to fish and loved to shop.  She liked to pass her time with an occasional casino trip.  Shirley especially loved spending time with her granddaughters.  She and her husband "Bud" would be at every game and event for their grandkids and were their biggest Cheerleader.

Visitation will be Friday, August 14, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral at 12:00 pm at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home (3227 Ridge Rd. Lansing, IL 60438.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
