Sharon Odom (nee Blynas), age 72 of Lockport, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Tinley Park, IL. She is survived by her beloved husband, John Odom; three children: David (Colleen) Odom, John Jr (Megan) Odom, and Kristi (John) Preisler; and six grandchildren: Tiffanie, Megan, Kaylee, Devin, Madden, and Jordan. Sharon was preceded in death by her mom: Edna Cheatham, sister: Pat Blynas, and Granddog: Grissom.

Friends are invited to visit with Sharon's family on Thursday, January 12 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Sharon's name to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).

Sharon retired from Amtrak after 36 years of service. She was a loving mother to any and all, faithful fan of her children's and grandchildren's sporting and non-sporting events. She was a frequent traveler and explorer of a fun time. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was the most selfless person and always willing to share a laugh. Everyone who met her loved her. Sharon was also an avid race fan, attending all her daughter's races at Illiana and Grundy County Speedway after retired from racing herself at Raceaway Park.
