Scott Alan Seger, affectionately known as "Scott Rock Seger" or "Superman", passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, surrounded by family. Born and raised in Hegewisch, Scott later made his home in Lansing, IL. His life was a testament to love, resilience, and community, and he leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Scott was the beloved husband of Arlene Seger (née Beno) with whom he shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. He was a devoted father to Nicholas, Joseph (married to Kate), and Jennifer (married to Alexander Fancher). He was a proud Gramps to his cherished granddaughter Minerva and eagerly awaited the arrival of another grandchild, as Jennifer is expecting.

Scott is also survived by his loving brother, Karl Seger, and his father-in-law, John Beno. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (née Truby) and Harry Seger, as well as his mother-in-law, Lorraine (née Rudzinski) Beno.

He was also a cherished nephew to David (Scotty) Seger, Jim (Janet) Seger, Leroy (Ginny) Darragh, Ted (Lynn) Truby, and Connie (George) Beno. Scott was a beloved brother-in-law to Robert (Pricilla) Beno, Nancy Beno, Steven (CeCe) Beno, and Janice (Robert) Lindeman. He was a doting uncle to many nieces and nephews: William (Emily) Ciszewski, Amy (Sean) Sanderson, Stephanie Beno, Ashley (Ronald) Garcia, and Daniel (Janet Schauer) Lindeman, as well as great-uncle to Kiefer, Kendall, Hudson, Colin, Alex, Rylee, Ethan, and Devin.

Scott graduated from George Washington High School in 1977 and carried the lessons of his youth into a life filled with passion and purpose. He recently retired from Napleton Honda in Lansing, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.

A proud member of the Lansing Copper Muggers, Scott remained active in the group even while battling the symptoms of ALS. His strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him. He often said, "You can't hurt Superman," and he lived those words every day, facing life's challenges with resilience.

Scott loved to socialize, sing, and be in the spotlight, often sharing words of wisdom, stories, and memories of his childhood. Everywhere he went, Scott knew someone, and his warm, outgoing nature made him a friend to all.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cooking, Sunday mornings, and watching sunrises and sunsets, especially at Cal Park. He loved spending time outdoors, whether by the pool, at the beach, or enjoying the company of family and friends. Scott also enjoyed trips to the casino with Arlene and cheering on his favorite teams, especially the Chicago White Sox.

Scott's faith, family, and friends were the foundation of his life and what carried him through.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd, Lansing, IL 60438. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a service at 2:00 PM presided over by Deacon Jim Renwick. Following the memorial, a luncheon will be held at JJ Kelley's in Lansing to celebrate Scott's remarkable life.

Scott will be remembered as a fighter, a storyteller, and a man who brought light and joy to everyone he met. His legacy of love, strength, and community will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Superman. www.schroederlauer.com
