SanJuanita Loza (nee Olivarez), age 79 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years: Ernesto Loza Martinez; four children: Alma Loza (Benjamin) Hurtado, Ernesto Loza Jr., Maria Loza (Allen) Stock, and Jessica Loza (Drew) Bentley. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Erica Hurtado, Stephanie Loza Barragan, Marissa Loza-Ooka, Cassandra Loza, Ernesto Loza III, Taesa Stock, Cheyanne Stock, Del Bentley, and Halen Bentley. And her great grandchildren: Michael Hurtado, Giselle Hurtado, Mikayla Hurtado, Nevaeh Hurtado, Isabella Hurtado, Joel Hurtado Jr., Alejandro Barragan, Isaiah Loza, Casey Loza, Destiny Loza, Enrique Loza, Alexis Ooka, Purity Ooka, Jared Ooka Jr., Riley Ooka, Grayson Ooka, Julieta Loza, Rosalina Loza, and Annalisia Loza.
SanJuanita is also survived by her brothers: David Garcia, Robert Garcia, Albert Garcia, Johnny Garcia, Rudy Garcia; sisters: Margaret Garcia Lopez and Noemi Garcia Espinoza; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. SanJuanita was preceded in death by her mother: Maria Rocha Garcia, father: Julian Olivarez step-father: Manuel Garcia, and grandparents: Maximo and Margarita Rocha, sisters: Odelia Paredez, Mary Diaz, and Hilda Martinez; brother: Ismael Garcia; grandson: Joel Hurtado, and great granddaughter: Amaya Hurtado.
Friends are invited to visit with SanJuanita's family on Wednesday, May 26 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial for SanJuanita will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM Directly at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donation's in SanJuanita's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
SanJuanita was retired from Grace Migrant Head Start as a family service coordinator. She was an active member of St. Ann church until she could no longer attend. She loved gardening and cooking. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and beloved grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
