Ruth Marie Bruegmann (nee Dykema), age 94 of Lansing, IL, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. She is survived by her two children: Sue (Larry) Nelson and Thomas (Teri) Bruegmann. Also surviving are her grandchildren: David (Sara) Dick, Stephen (Tonya) Nelson, Britta (Caleb) Brown, Tony (Seneca) Bruegmann, and Tina (Tim) Freeberg; and great grandchildren: Kalleigh Dick, Konel Dick, Justin Freeberg, Eliam Nelson, Rhylan Nelson, Linden Nelson, Hayden Bruegmann, Hunter Bruegmann, and Huxson Bruegmann; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her former husband: Glen Bruegmann; parents: Krien and Clara Dykema; and siblings: Ed (Marge) Dykema, Jake (Mary) Dykema, Mae (Bob) DeYoung, Sue (Harold) Schultz, and Esther (Gale) Peters.

Friends are invited to visit with Ruth's family from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Andy Nearpass officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Lansing. Ruth was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church in Lansing/First PCA. She worked for 51 years at Burger/Key Market/Strack - always on register3. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
