Bob Mowinski, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 80. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Bob's life was marked by a strong commitment to family, friends, fishing, gardening, and making jam. He proudly served in the military in Germany from 1965-1967. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of the Amvets Glenwood Post 268.

Bob dedicated over 20 years as a System Analyst at Prudential Financial in Chicago, Illinois. He also worked in the banking business, and at Saint Andrew the Apostle as head of maintenance. He was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Bob's main passion was fishing, so much that he would make his own fishing lures.

With his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara (Barb) Mowinski (née Kretz) enjoyed traveling across the country with their family and friends. They enjoyed spending summers camping between Indiana and Michigan with their grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife Barbara (Barb); son Matt Mowinski (Chris) and daughter Tricia Mowinski: grandchildren Jessica Knerler, Ashley Knerler, Emma Mowinski, and Ryan Mowinski; sister Marilyn Filipiowski (Fred); and a large circle of beloved family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Bob on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois with visitation from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A short prayer service will begin at 7:30 PM.

Bob's Legacy is one of love, laughter, and curiosity. He will be remembered for his positive impact on the life of many, leaving behind memories, filled with laughter.
