Robert S. Hofstra, age 79 of Lansing, IL passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Robert was born in Chicago, IL in 1942. He graduated from Chicago Christian High School in 1960. He was also a 1981 graduate of Moody Bible Institute. Robert was employed as a meatcutter at Strack & VanTil until his retirement in 2003. He married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte, in 1961 and they moved to Lansing in 1972.

Bob loved God with all of his heart. He loved reading God's Word and singing praises to God, and was an active member of Faith Church Beecher. He had a heart for men's ministries and small group ministries and was an encourager to so many. Bob shared his faith with anyone that would listen. He loved to spend time with his family and friends whether it was at a cookout in his backyard, going to a play or concert, or on one of his many camping trips. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening and sitting by his backyard koi pond. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte (nee Brouwer), his son Robert Hofstra, his daughter Nancy (Robert) Adams, and his son David (Donna) Hofstra. Grandchildren Anthony (Harmony) Hofstra, James (Krystle) Hofstra, Thomas (Chelsea) Hofstra, Brian (Andrea) Adams, Joseph Adams, Kevin (Ali) Adams. Great grandchildren Logan, Belle, Haley, and Anna. Siblings Daniel (Joyce) Hofstra and Ruth Kennelly. Many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Gertrude Hofstra, and his brother George Hofstra.

A celebration of life memorial service for Robert will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Faith Church Dyer, 100 W. 81st Ave, Dyer, IN, with Pastor Brian Dennert officiating. The family kindly requests that all visitors wear face coverings while interacting with the family members.
