Robert C. Shimala, age 82, of Lansing, IL passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Karen Shimala for 49 years. Loving father of Robert (Heidi), John (Janet), and Michael; six grandchildren: Sara, Matthew, Benjamin, Tyler, Emily, and Charlie; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anne Shimala.

Robert was a salesman for most of his career and retired after working for the Village of Lansing as a Code Enforcement Officer. He was a dedicated family man who was actively involved in his kids and grandkids sports and activities. Robert enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Friends are invited to visit with Robert's family on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 9:00 AM to noon DIRECTLY at (All Souls Catholic Parish) St. Ann Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately in the church at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to Hospice of the Calumet Area, 600 Superior Ave., Munster, IN 46321.
