Richard A. Rapka, age 82 of South Holland, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019. He is survived by his four children: Paul (Barbara Martin-Rapka) Rapka, Adam S. (Jennifer Weston) Rapka, Sherry (Paul) Grzych, and Kelly (Steve) Brasel. J. T. Martin and many grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive along with two brothers: Frank and Bob; and two sisters: Christine Smart (nee Rapka) and Kathleen Coleman (nee Rapka). Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Joyce Rapka in March, 2005; and brother: Ron Rapka.

Friends are invited to visit with Richard's family on Sunday, July 7 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Funeral services for Richard will be held on Monday, July 8 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Deacon Jim Renwick officiating. Richard will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard name to the American Cancer Society.

Richard honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. He worked for International Harvester as a furnace operator; enjoyed fishing and painting; and was a Chicago Bears fan.
