Richard J. Ball, age 82 of Sauk Village, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026. Rich was the beloved husband for 62 years to Nancy (nee Timmons) Ball; devoted father to three daughters: Faye (Jarrett) Roe, Crystine Ball-Rios, and Hannah (Morgan) Rollinson; and proud grandfather to Grace Rios, Raymond Rios, Jude Rollinson, and Billie Rollinson.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents: Everett Ball and Grace (nee Slager) Ball; sister Carol (late Lester) Vander Steeg; and brothers Everett (Patricia) Ball and William (Dorothy) Ball.

Friends are invited to visit with Richard's family on Sunday, March 29 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. Funeral services for Rich will be held on Monday, March 30 at 10:00 AM at Glenwood Bible Church, 201 W. Main St., Glenwood, IL 60425. Rich will be laid to rest in Homewood Memorial Gardens at 600 Ridge Rd., Homewood, IL 60430. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Rich's name to Glenwood Bible Church.

Rich dedicated 28 years of service as custodian at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School in Chicago Heights, IL, a role he truly loved. His work brought him great joy, especially during the many years he spent alongside his cherished nephew, Jack Vander Steeg.
