Phyllis R. Cain (nee Watkins), age 80 of Highland, IN, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. she is survived by her children: Tammy Davis, Bo (Sue) Cain, Holly (late Joseph) Miller, Robert (Nanci) Cain; grandchildren: Matthew (Elizabeth) Cain, Brandon Cain, Cera (Adam Boland) Cain, Alexis (Michael) Luff, Brittany (Adrian Zentz) Mosca, Brandy (Nathan Gardner) Grant and great grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Lucilia Zentz, Matthew C. Cain, Lucas Cain, Everleigh and Benjamin Gardner, numerous nieces and nephews; and her best girl, Precious. Also surviving is her sister: Margo (Robert) Prohaska. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Gertrude Watkins, sisters: Charlotte (late Larry) Porath, Monagene (Terry) Steenson, son-in-law, Joseph Miller, and former husband and friend: Arthur Cain.

Friends are invited to visit with Phyllis's family on Tuesday, December 9 from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. The funeral service will begin at 9:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Phyllis will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN.

Phyllis honorably served our country in the US Air Force. She was nurse, specifically in wound care. She was an avid Chicago sports team fan. She was a beloved mother and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
