Pete Nicholas, age 92 of Ellinitsa, Greece formerly of Lansing IL,  passed away on Friday December 24, 2021.  He is survived by his loving daughter Nancy (Pete) Karegianes and cherished granddaughter : Maria Karegianes.  Also surviving is his brother Sam (Nancy) Nicholas; Sister: Voula (Late Vasili); numerous nieces and nephews and 5 god children. Pete was Preceded in death by his beloved wife: Maria Nicholas; Sister : Nikoleta Madouras, brother Frank Nicholas.

A committal service for Pete will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery, 1413 169 ^th Street, Hammond, Indiana, with Father David Bissias officiating. Family and friends who plan on attending should arrive at the cemetery no later than 9:45 AM inside the front gate. Due to the COVID-19 virus, a Celebration of Life for Pete will be held at a later date.

Pete was the owner of the Golden Crown Restaurant for 40 years.  He Served as a member of the Lynwood Lions Club where he received a "Peace award".  Pete was a member of the St Demetrious Greek orthodox church for many years.  Pete Loved his Grapevine, Cooking, gardening and the company of other and his family  by showing  examples of love and humor towards all of us.  He will be missed.
