Patrick D.
Sharp
Oct 31, 1933 — Aug 1, 2026
Park Forest
Patrick Sharp, 92, went home to be with the Lord at 3 am Saturday, August 1st, at Vitas Hospice in Olympia Fields, Illinois. He was born in York, Pennsylvania to Lillian Markle Sharp and Blair J. Sharp.
Mr. Sharp, a US Army veteran, was a retired commercial artist and life-long lover of art and music. He blessed his church and hundreds of friends and relatives with personal works of art which he created even into his 90's.
He, the beloved "Uncle Pat", was cherished by his family and friends and lavished his love on all. A dear church friend says that "Pat was truly a lifelong follower of our Lord. He never missed chapel, was head usher for years, carried a picture of Jesus in his wallet, volunteered for everything, and used his many varied skills to provide gifts for us all. He was a very special friend and we'll always remember him."
If you knew Pat and were touched by his love, know that it was due in large part to his faith and belief in Jesus. Pat believed what is explained here, which is brief and we encourage you, as Pat would, to read and consider: https://www.gotquestions.org/going-to-heaven.html .
He is survived by his sister, Suzanne Grout, and innumerable nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.
Visitation from 4-6 pm followed by a memorial service at 6 pm will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, 2026 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 19058 Burnham Ave., Lansing, Illinois. He will be laid to rest in York, Pennsylvania. As his Christian faith and church family were so very important to Pat, donations, if desired, can be made to the church. see
