Patricia (Kathy) Matwij, age 68 of Lansing, Illinois passed away peacefully on October 5, 2024. She was born August 27th, 1956, in Chicago where she spent most of her life before moving to Skokie and finally living out all the rest of her days in Lansing.  Kathy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all.

Kathy worked as operator for American United Cab where she met her future husband, Tony. She also worked as a proofreader for American Service Insurance and then at Zenith Administrators as pension clerk. Kathy was active at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church as a Catechist and with the Liturgy of the Word for Children's Group. Kathy was an avid reader of Agatha Christie novels and loved Word Find puzzles. She loved the White Sox and Blackhawks with her favorite players being Ozzie Guillen and Marian Hossa. Kathy also had a fond love of music including but not limited to Lionel Richie.

Kathy was a beloved wife of 38 years to Tony whom she loved dearly. She had immense love for her son, Franky (Kim) Gresham and Grandson, Tim Dortman.  Kathy also grew up with two amazing brothers, Brian (Gina Lemarca) and Scott Gresham. Kathy had a huge heart for her friends especially her childhood friend, Regena Ellis and longtime friends, Judy Mitranga and Stephanie Palese who were always just a call away. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews along with 3 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Gresham.  She lived with gratitude, kindness, and love. Those who knew her were able to enjoy her presence in their lives will miss her dearly.
