Neil J. Tanis, age 84 of Munster, IN, passed away at his home on Friday, June 2, 2023. He is survived by his sister: Joan Kaluf of California; nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Neil was preceded in death by his parents: Neil (Cornelius) and Dorothy (Eckstein) Tanis; and sister: Marlene Pelkki.

Friends are invited to visit with Neil's family on Friday, June 9 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Neuman officiating. Neil will be laid to rest by his parents in Homewood Memorial Gardens in Homewood, IL.

Neil honorably served our country in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He had worked as a truck driver for many years for Pepsi.
