Michael E. Jacobs, age 67, resident of Crete, formally of Lansing, Illinois, passed away on Friday, August 5, suddenly at his home.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart of 50 years (46 years married), Cheri A. (Pluskota) Jacobs, his three children Keith (Amy), Eric (Mary), and Alicia, three grandsons, Charles, Ryan, Zack and grand puppy Grouper. Mike is also survived by his sister Christine Burr and many extended family members of whom he loved dearly. Mike is preceded in death by his parents William and Donna Jacobs.

Mike loved many things in life. His family always held the number one place in his heart followed closely by his love of classic hot rods, rock and roll and 70's music like Jimmy Buffett and The Beach Boys, and vacationing in warm locations with Cheri and fishing in Minnesota with his extended family. Mike had an extensive list of accomplishments with his blue collar work ethic. He built his dream log cabin to retire in, numerous cars, and teaching his skills to his family. This also included how to be a poet with four letter words and using appropriate sign language at the precise time. Mike was a gentle giant to all, even the animals that seemed to gravitate to him. What he would consider his greatest accomplishments however would be his 46 year marriage to his Cheri, his three loving children and his three amazing grandsons.

In honor of Mike's spirit and love for all things fun, please wear Hawaiian attire to celebrate his life on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 to 5:00 PM with a sharing of stories at 4:00 PM to honor Mikes life and legacy. Memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
