Maureen Bridget Spatz, nee Mason, of Lansing, Illinois passed away April 9, 2022. Maureen was born in Blue Island, Illinois on December 24, 1981, the daughter of Margaret (William) Motluck and John (Kathy) Mason. Surviving are her two sons, Zachary and Gabriel Spatz, and their father, Michael Spatz, her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Daniel Hayden, nephews, John and Adam Hayden, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding her in death are her maternal grandparents, John and Bridget Lally and paternal grandparents Jack and Harriet Mason.

Maureen grew up in Lansing, Illinois, graduated from TF South High School, Eastern Illinois University, and Dominican University. Maureen had her Master of Library and Information Sciences and worked at several local libraries in the south suburbs. Maureen was a talented pianist and taught several children over the years. She loved listening to all kinds of music, dancing, and cheering for the White Sox. Maureen was an avid reader that you could always count on for a book recommendation. She loved doing arts and crafts and having pool days with her sons. Maureen was intelligent, beautiful, funny, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Maureen will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois with closing prayers beginning at 9:30 AM then proceeding to Our Lady Of Knock Catholic Church, 501 163 ^rd Street, Calumet City, Illinois for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the funeral home from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Maureen was loved by many and she will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maureen's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
