Maryann Karulski (nee Prell), age 78 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020, with her family by her side. She is survived by her four children: Richard Karulski Jr, Debbie Karulski, Don Karulski, and Ray (Lisa) Karulski. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Raymond, Marissa, Miranda, and Madison Karulski; and many nieces and nephews. Maryann was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Richard Sr. in 2013; mother Marie Stanek, father Casimer Prell Sr., brother Casimer Prell Jr., and sister Judith Harris.

Friends are invited to visit with Maryann's family on Thursday, July 16 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the day chapel in St. Ann Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of the church. You will be required to wear a face mask and give your name and phone number to the ushers of the church. Face masks will be provided.

Maryann was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She had worked as the business manager for Hilton housekeeping. She had also worked for approximately 30 years as a nursing aide in the Neonatology department at South Chicago Hospital.

Maryann loved the company of her dog, Penny. She was concerned with the needs of everyone other than herself. Her acts of kindness were selfless and appreciated by her kids. She loved spending time with her family on weekends. All the birthdays and holidays were her best memories that she cherished.

Her grandkids thought she was awesome! Whenever Maryann had time, she would spend it with them. That meant the world to her. They loved it every time Gramma could watch them, whether it was for a visit or sleepover. They had a wonderful time playing dress up, watching movies, playing games, or just talking. And her daughter-in-law, Lisa, called Maryann the Matriarch of the family.

Maryann touched the lives of so many in her life as wife, mom, gramma, and co-worker. She was loved and will truly be missed.
