Mary Alice (Carroll) Sylvester, age 97 of Lansing IL, passed away Thursday, December 28,2023 with family at her side. She was born on July,18,1926 in Chicago IL to Leo and Mary (Specker) Carroll, the youngest of six children. She was a graduate of T.F. North in Calumet City IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene D. Sylvester and all five of her older brothers. She is survived by her children, Ron (late Margaret Wohler) of Wakefield MA, Ann (Dan Tiedt) of Blairsville GA and Theresa of Lansing IL. Grandchildren, Michael Sylvester (Colleen) of Swampscott MA and Ann Marie Sylvester (Austin Paul) of Medford MA. Great Grandchildren Madison Sylvester and Margaret Paul. And numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Alice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

She always had a smile for everyone and a positive attitude for life. An avid bridge player, she enjoyed getting together and playing with friends every week. She was also an active member of the Lansing Women's Club, the Lansing Historical Society and the Joliet Area Theater Organ Enthusiasts. She loved music!

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2pm to 5pm, at Schroeder Lauer Funeral Home 3227 Ridge Rd. Lansing IL. Mary Alice will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood IL.
