Mary Ann Janus (nee Worosz), 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at her home in Schererville, Indiana.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband Donald of 66 years, her children, Johnny (Therese) Janus, Donna (Kurt) Janus-Moss, Jimmy (Karen) Janus and Jennifer Yeager; her cherished grandchildren Jake and Connie Janus, Lindsay and Matthew Janus, Jacqueline and Josephine Yeager, and great grandson Emmitt Vincenzo Bochette. Also surviving Mary Ann are sisters, Theresa (late Edward) Michna and Rita (Don) Stopper. She was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Mary (Niemiec) Worosz and sister Joan (Eugene) Kurzydym.

Mary Ann was born and grew up in Hammond, Indiana and graduated from Hammond Technical-Vocational High School. She was very social, loved going to dances, and especially enjoyed polka dancing with her friends and sisters. She also enjoyed working and helping out at her father's hardware store.

Don and Mary Ann married in 1958 and raised their family in Calumet City, Illinois. They ultimately moved to Schererville, Indiana and have resided there for the past 30 years.

Mary Ann was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed getaways to Cancun or wherever her friends and family were off to.

Visitation for Mary Ann will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services for Mary Ann will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home with closing prayers beginning at 9:30 AM then preceeding to (Jesus Shepherd of Souls) Our Lady of Knock Parish, 501 163 rd Street, Calumet City, Illinois for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Father Patrick Lyons officiating. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois.
