He was a huge patriot and enjoyed working with veterans. He continued to work during the worst days while fighting his disease. Marty was a big fan of all Chicago teams, but especially loved the Blackhawks. Marty was a beloved baseball, softball, and football coach in Lansing and Hegewisch. His greatest joy was coaching his children. He would say "We are moments away from getting or giving a lesson" and "What you do after a mistake is what makes you who you are". Marty truly cared about everyone. Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care and arrangements of Martin. www.schroederlauer.com
