Linda Poppe passed away September 3, 2023 at Crown Point Christian Village in Indiana. She was born July 10, 1936 to Alwin and Elenore (Baack) Poppe in Hammond, Indiana. After graduating high school, she began her forty year career in the central mail room for NiPSCO. Linda was an active member at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lansing, IL. Working for many years with the Altar Guild, Ladies Aide/LWML, and Braille. She enjoyed taking trips; visiting Europe, parts of Canada, and California, to name a few.

Linda was also an avid knitter and crocheter. Living in Lansing most of her life, she moved to Wittenberg Village in Crown Point, Indiana in 2016, and had recently moved to Crown Point Christian Village. She is preceded in death by her sister, Janet Poppe, and her brother, James Poppe. She is survived by her brother, Richard (late Jeanne) Poppe, and her sister, Anita (late Luis) Castro-Conde, her sister-in-law Julie Poppe, 2 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great nieces, 3 great nephews, and cousins.

A service for Linda will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing IL, with Pastor John Richy officiating, to be followed by a graveside service at Oak Glen Lutheran Cemetery in Lansing, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 18100 Wentworth, Lansing IL, 60438. Linda was loved by many and she will be truly missed.
