Kent J. McCarthy, age 82 of Hammond, IN, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. He was preceeded in death by his parents: Jim and Juanita McCarthy, brother Kevin (Anna), grandson O'Shea, and best friends: Bill and Barbara Dinga.

Kent was a barber for 60 years, most of them in Lansing, IL. He loved every minute of it. He was an avid golfer and loved his outings on his quadricycle.

Kent is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Nancy; sons: Michael (Edna) and Darrin (Sharon); grandson: Patrick (Kyla); great grandson: Memphis; niece, Kelly; and his best friend, Finnigan the dog.

There are no services scheduled at this time, but there will be a memorial service at a later date.
