Kent Allen Magnuson, age 65 of Beecher, Illinois formerly of Calumet City, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020. Kent is survived by his Beloved Wife, Mary Lou (nee Swiatkowski) Magnuson of 36 years. Loving Father of Dustin Magnuson, Erick Magnuson, Andrew Magnuson. Cherished Brother of Jeffrey (Rita) Magnuson, Nieces and Goddaughters, Angela Magnuson, Christina Magnuson. Also, Goddaughter, Kelly Chadwick. Fond Brother-In-Law, Denis Swiatkowski and Niece Lisa (Joe)Tarala. Kent was preceded in death by his loving parents Kenneth and Betty (Booth) Magnuson and Sister Nancy (Late Greg) Nemitz.

Kent was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend, mentor, and colleague. Kent loved spending time with his boys, with everything they did together. He enjoyed the fishing trips, with his sons and friends. In fact he was a member of Muskies, Inc. The First Wisconsin Chapter and participated in the yearly tournament for many years with his friends and family. He was many great things to many people and loved to surround himself with those wonderful people. He always went the extra mile, not only in his work but as a husband, father and friend, which earned him the trust of many. He was passionate about his work and his 40+ years as a Real Estate Broker for Coldwell Banker Real Estate, previously Santefort Cowing Realtors and Santefort Real Estate where he was able to display his skills and passion every day. He made many friends and was able to mentor and help many fellow colleagues along the way, specializing in the south suburbs of Illinois and Northwest Indiana. He achieved numerous awards throughout the years for his hard work and real estate knowledge, but his most recent were The International Sterling Society Of Coldwell Banker, Schererville IN, and a 14 year consecutive President Circle Award to name a few. He also was very proud and dedicated to his work at First Savings Bank of Hegewisch, on the Board of Directors. He was an avid Coin Collector since he was young man where he spent numerous hours going to coin shows and buying and selling currencies. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed going to car shows and cruise nights. He owned many memorable classic vehicles throughout the years that he enjoyed driving and cruising in the summer months. Later in life he got into antiques and collectibles and attended auctions, to keep a steady supply of new inventory at the Manteno Antique Mall where he sold coins and antiques as a hobby. He grew up on the south side of Chicago and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School and continued to support the school long after his graduation. He was a part of many activities at the school including chess, bowling, and shooting. Kent is a lifetime member of the NRA and early in life participated in skeet shooting competition and enjoyed hunting with a lot of his friends. Many of those friends he made while working at Stans Easy Go Gas Station in Dolton IL, where he classified himself as a "Petroleum Retailer." "Kently" or " Big Cigar" as many of his friends called him, enjoyed laughing, joking around, and made many great memories that he loved reminiscing about. He loved talking and could have conversations for hours, whether it was real estate, life, or just friendly conversation he always had the right words to say and the best advice.

Due to the current health environment and the COVID-19 virus, Funeral services for Kent will be private. Kent will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois. A Celebration of life for Kent will take place at a later date. The Family would like to Thank Everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
