Kathleen A. Fish (nee Nemitz), age 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Hospice Riley Home, Munster, Indiana. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband Steven "Mike" Fish of 48 years. Her children Matthew (Michelle) Fish, Eric (Margaret) Fish. Her cherished grandchildren Abby, Brooke, Hannah. Barnes, Vivienne, and Henry Fish. Also surviving are sisters Karen (Bob) Lake, Kim (Howard) Silkowski, John (Cheryl) Nemitz, sisters-in-law Pam (Wally) Lambert, Judy (Mike) Wierzba. Kathleen will be fondly remembered by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Kathleen was born in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in the Roseland Neighborhood. Graduated from Fenger High School in 1969. Graduated from Western Illinois with a degree in teaching. Later with a master's in education from St. Xavier University.

Kathleen retired from School District 158 (Memorial Jr. High) after 24 years. She was a PE teacher and also coached Volleyball and Track.

Kathleen also loved her family and cooking holiday meals. She had a passion for outside gardening and loved planting flowers. Also was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services for Kathleen will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral beginning with 9:30 AM closing prayers then preceding to Jesus Shepherd Of Souls, (Our Lady Of Knock Church) 501 163rd Street, Calumet City, Illinois for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Kathleen will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Glenwood, Illinois.
