Karen J. Poortinga, age 73 of Lynwood, Illinois passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Karen is survived by her loving and caring partner Thomas Stallbohm. Loving mother of Kimberly (Todd) Martin, Kevin (Rebecca) Poortinga and Lynn and Laura Stallbohm. Cherished grandmother of Amanda (Mitchell) Courtney, Derek Schaaf, Faith Martin, Joshua and Jacob Poortinga and brother Darrell (Hilda) Van Gameron. Karen was preceded in by her Parents Arthur and Doris Van Gameron and sister Jaci Mieland.

Karen loved all thing Disney especially Cinderella. She was truly a nature person, she enjoyed God creation. Karen enjoyed feeding God's birds which gave her peace and tranquility. She adored her family and had such a kind and gentle heart. The family takes comfort that she's pain free and with her Lord and Savior. She was loved by many and she will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Karen's name to the tuition assistance program at Reformed Heritage Christian School, 700 North Flecher Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49006

Funeral services for Karen will be private. Karen will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lansing, Illinois.
