John R. Varnak, age 69 of Lansing, IL, passed away at his home, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He is survived by his wife: Toni (nee Plomann) Altier; children: Kelly (Jeff) Schmit and Johnny (Julie) Varnak; stepchildren: Dawn (Mathew) Pozen, David (Marta) Altier, and Dan (Kim) Altier; grandfather of 11; and brother to Laura Rodriguez, Denise Kowalczyk, and Sharon Crismon. John was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Catherine (nee Pickering) Varnak.

John was a dedicated employee of R.E. Kaus Trucking for over 25 years. He liked old cars and boats. John was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed.
