John J. Bush, age 80 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2026. John is survived by his beloved wife: Elizabeth (nee Keller); daughter: Mary (David) Pennock; and grandson, Dylan. Also surviving is his sister, Jean (John) Schmidt' and sister-in-law, Barbara Bush. John was preceded in death by his brother, James Bush.

John honorably served our country in the US Army. John retired from the University of Chicago where he was a telecommunications analyst. As a volunteer, he helped with the distribution at the food pantry of the Calumet City Resource Center. He enjoyed singing with the guitar group at Jesus Shepherd of Souls Catholic Parish (formerly Our Lady of Knock).

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 5 at Jesus Shepherd of Souls Parish 501 163rd St., Calumet City, IL. John will be laid to rest at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Memorial donations may be made in John's name to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, 4100 W. Ann Lurie Pl., Chicago, IL 60632.
