Janet A. Knight, age 76 of Lansing, Illinois formerly of Calumet City, Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She is survived by her loving children Sherri (late Todd) Bergfors, Debbie (Bill) Anderson, and Kim (Gary) Robertson. Cherished grandmother of Ashley, Kyle, Lindsay, Emily, and Jessica and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her husband Robert Knight, Jr., loving parents Albert and Irene (nee Heine) Planer and brother Loren Planer.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Janet will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor John Richy officiating. Janet will be laid to rest at Oak Glen Lutheran Cemetery, Lansing, Illinois. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are asking, when visiting with the family, to please wear a mask and follow the six feet social distancing protocol.

Janet was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend. Over the years she worked at Venture, Kmart and Walmart, she enjoyed helping and taking care of all her customers. Janet was also a long time faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lansing, Illinois.

She took great pride in her flower garden, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly. She enjoyed doing crafts, ceramics and going to crafts shows around the area. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs Max and Winter. She enjoyed taking long rides in the country where she enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Janet was loved by many and she will be dearly missed.
