Jane K. Schauer, age 91 of Lansing, Illinois passed away peacefully June 28, 2023. Jane is survived by her daughter-in law Dorrie Herr-Schauer. Loving grandmother of Lynn, John, and Janet and great grandmother of Lily. Also survived are sister-in-law Donna Beifuss and many loving nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Schauer, sons Jeffrey and James Schauer, parents Adolph and Loretta Beifuss, brother James and sister Joan.

A celebration of life will be held DIRECTLY at First United Methodist Church, 6635 Homan Ave, Hammond, Indiana on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12 Noon with services immediately following with Pastor James Denton officiating. Jane will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois.

Jane was a very faithful and devoted person. Her faith was an extremely important part of her every day life. It was exemplified by the way she treated people and how she lived life. Jane loved and enjoyed the outdoors. She enjoyed the beauty of God's nature, gardening, watching all the colorful butterfly's and birds. She also enjoyed baking and especially spending time with her family. She had a special talent of making hand sown stuffed cats and other animals which brought her great joy. The family would like to give a special and heart warmth thanks to caregivers; Teresa, Gina, Madalena, and Seema for taking care of Jane with love and compassion. Your thoughtfulness will never be fogotten. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Jane's name to a charity of your choice.
