James  Schmueser  age 92 of Lansing, IL, passed away on Monday November 4, 2024. He is survived by his children Linda (Mark) Hasz, Sharon (Kevin) Schlink, Michael Schmueser, and son-in-law Paul Elsner,; grandchildren: Jessica (Nicholas) Blanton and Amanda Neupert, Jeffery Hasz, Lorna (John) Silipino. Nicholas ( Danielle) Hasz, Tricia Schmueser, Carl Elsner.; 8 great grandchildren: CJ Copeland, Ethan Copeland, Cullen Blanton, and Lee Leiber and sisters in law Maxine (nee Krygiel) Nowobilski, Marie (nee Krygiel) Dillon and loving nephew Adam Karl Purdy. James  was preceded in death by his Wife Martha Schmueser, Mother Goldie Kemp, his Father William Schmueser, brother-in-law: Frank Nowobilski, His daughter Joanne Elsner, his daughter in law Debra Schmueser, and Step-son and Michael Cobb.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 10:00 AM to 12 noon with services immediately following. James will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois.

James Worked as a Munster Firefighter for the town of Munster, Indiana. He then worked at American Steel for 45 years. James loved working in the garage. He used to build things in his spare time. He loved spending time with his family. He loved watching the NASCAR races. He will be deeply missed and loved. www.schroederlauer.com
