Jack Anthony Shone, 78 of Lansing, IL, passed away at home on March 1, 2026, after facing a long illness. Jack grew up in Lansing and always carried deep affection for his hometown. After marrying Gena, he spent 15 years in Calumet City before the couple returned to Lansing, where they built their life together.

Jack attended St. Ann School, Marmion Military Academy (Class of 1965), and Saint Joseph College (Class of 1969). His working life began in the family business, Dominick's Restaurant, where he spent 13 years learning the values of service and hospitality. His love of golf eventually led him to a new path as a Certified Club Manager (CCM), a role in which he proudly led clubhouse teams at Lincolnshire, Woodmar, and River Forest Country Clubs.

Jack leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Gena (nee Hall); his siblings Priscilla (Bernie) Healy, Ginnie (Burt) Floraday, and James (JoAnne) Shone; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Virginia Shone.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, March 7 from 10:30 am – 12:00 noon at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. The service honoring Jack's life begin at noon.  A private burial will follow.
