Ingeborg E. Wurm (nee Schleimer Sloane) age 99 of Olympia Fields, IL, formerly Lansing, IL resident since 1951, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026. Born in Hamburg, Germany to parents Dr. Martin and Hertha (nee Bornschein) Schleimer in 1926. She was sent to a boarding school in England as a teenager in 1938during WWII to avoid the Nazis. The family later emigrated to the United States and their last name was changed to Sloane.

Ingeborg is survived by her sister, Barbara Griffin and daughter-in-law, Doreen Wurm. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Shannon Cordero, Michelle (Brian) Schreck, Barry (Deb) Cordero, Daniel (Melissa) Wurm, and Kasey Verrett; 10 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Hans Wurm; daughter, Kathleen Verrett and son, Ronald Wurm; and brother, John Sloane.

Ingeborg earned a Master's Degree in Education. She taught for many years and retired in 1986 from Lansing School District 158. She was a member of the NEA Union and Beta Beta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
