Florence Auman (nee Fox), age 84 of Joliet, IL, formerly of East Hazel Crest, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Oppelt; grandchildren: Amanda Ruiz, Jeniffer (Shaun) Straube, Faith Barkley, Kiann (Harmon) House, Jordan (Courtney) Ferrara, and Brandon (Jazmen) Straube. Also surviving are her great grandchildren: Jalynn, Andy, Bela, Mario, Justin, Michael, Lilly, Bryson, Brayden, Bentley, Ramsey, Charlotte, Darius, and Nevaeh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Jenny Fox; sister, Dorothy Nichols; brother, Edward Fox; daughter, Susan Oppelt; and son, William Oppelt, and grandson, Steven Oppelt

Friends are invited to visit with Florence's family on Friday, January 16 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ride Rd., Lansing, IL. The funeral service will begin at 7:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to assist with funeral expenses.

Florence will forever be "Foxy". She will be remembered for her love of the Chicago Bears, motorcycles, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
