Obituary

Our dearest, Faustino Miclat Dionisio, Jr. was 88 years old when he passed awaypeacefully at home in Lansing, Illinois, surrounded by his loved ones, on Saturday October 25, 2025, at 3 a.m., Divine Mercy Hour. Affectionately called "Mahal (Love)" by his wife; Daddy by his children; "Kuya" Junior (Big Brother) by his nine brothers and sisters; "Tito" (Uncle) or "Ninong" (Godfather) by his nephews, nieces, and extended family.

Born in Hagunoy, Taguig, Philippines, Faustino was a kind, selfless, and loving son to Faustino Sr. and Juanita. He is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla Santos, with whom he shared 54 years of unconditional, devoted, and loving marriage. He was a beloved and respected father, deeply cherished by his daughters, Pamela Ann and Jocelyn, and her husband, Jack Cheng.

Aside from his core family, one of the most treasured parts of his life is his siblings and their families:

The late Florante Sr. and his wife, Josefina, and children Florante Jr., Froilan, and the late Josiphine, and their spouses and children

Jesus and his wife, Lola

The late Reynaldo and his late wife, Rosita, and children Raynard, Rayross, and Redginald, and their spouses and children Thelma and her late husband, Mario Sr. (Franco), and children Alex, Allan, Aldrin, Alvin, and Mario Jr., and their spouses and children

Danilo and his wife, Aracelie, and children Jennifer, Michelle, and Danny James, and their spouses and childrenJaime and his wife, Maristela, and children Cynthia, Ryan, Jamie, Tyrone, Guillan, Jendelyn, Patrick, and their spouses and children the late Myrna and her late husband, Jose (Arroyo), and children Jaelin, Joseph, and their spouses and children Frederick Sr. and his wife, Marcela and son Frederick Jr.

Mary Ann and Randy (Novales), and children Ramesses and Lyanne, and their spouses and children.

Growing up in Hagunoy, Taguig, he attended Hagunoy Elementary School, Rizal High School in Pasig, and later earned a degree in radio and communications electronics from FEATI University. In the Philippines, he went on to build a long and fulfilling career using Morse code as a radio operator with international shipping companies, which allowed him to travel the world from Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, Spain, and with only a handful of countries left to visit. When he and his family immigrated to the United States in 1987, he continued working at JL Prescott and Roman Adhesives.

In retirement, he enjoyed meaningful activities like attending daily Mass with his wife at All Souls (formerly St. Ann's) and Mount Carmel Monastery, visiting his mother and siblings in California, vacationing with family, and spending peaceful days at home watching his favorite shows on his big-screen TV, and singing or listening to his favorite songs. He especially loved brightening his home each Christmas with lots of lights, a reflection of his warmth and cheerful spirit. He drew upon his strong faith when he survived a stroke in 2020, relying on others for his physical needs and trusting God completely for his spiritual endurance. He prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet** daily and joyfully exclaimed "Jesu Ufam Tobie" (Jesus, I Trust in You) throughout the day.

We will miss him deeply and lovingly, and he will always be remembered for his gentle smile, quiet strength, kindness, generosity, enduring love for family, and deep faith in God. May he rest in God's presence with eternal peace reunited with loved ones who have gone before him. Let us honor our beloved Mahal/Daddy/Kuya/Tito/Uncle/Ninong Junior by remembering happy moments we shared with a smile in our hearts.
