Ethan Hobart Ridgley, age 82, of Lansing, IL (formerly of Dolton, IL) went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Ethan is survived by his wife Sharon (nee Grapenthien), who joined him in marriage on October 22, 1967; three children; Jason Ridgley, Lauren (Rodney) Roeda and Ryan (Jill) Ridgley; Sister-in-law Helen (Roger) Grapenthien; grandchildren; Kendall Ridgley, Clay Ridgley, Paige Ridgley, BreAnne (Jonathan Mayo) Podgorski, Courtney (fiancé Dylan Angell) Podgorski, Jessica (Felix) Krueger, Jake (Crystal) Roeda, Alex (fiancé Ashley) Roeda, Hunter Ridgley, Sienna Ridgley, Braden Ridgley and Ryder Ridgley, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethan was preceded in death by his foster parents, Clarence and Margaret Bitner, father and mother-in-law, Harold and LaVerne Grapenthien, and brothers-in-law Roger and Gary Grapenthien.

Ethan owned a Pepperidge Farm franchise for many years. He was a softball coach and loved to play softball, baseball, golf, bean bags and enjoyed bowling and going fishing. He also loved raft races down the Kankakee River. Funeral services for Ethan will be private. Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and care of Ethan.
