Eloise M. VanderVliet (nee Broertjes), age 97 of Dyer, IN, formerly of Denver, CO, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Joy (Robert) Krygsheld; grandchildren: Amy Slade, Nicole (Marshall) Butler, Samuel (Ashleigh) Krygsheld, and Jennifer (Robert) DeWindt; and great grandchildren: Elliana Slade; Opal, Violet, and Willow DeWindt. Also surviving is her brother: Will Broertjes, son-in-law: Jerry (Jo) Vander Kooy, sister-in-law: Ruth Broertjes, and brother-in-law: Nelson VanderVliet.

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; daughter: Sue Vander Kooy; brothers: Harold, John, and Ron (Sharon) Broertjes; and sister: Dorothy (Ken) Eriks.

Friends are invited to visit with Eloise's family on Monday, August 19 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 20 at 11:00 AM at Oak Glen United Reformed Church, 2244 Indiana Ave., Lansing, IL Private interment will be at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Eloise's name to Illiana Right to Life, Illiana Christian High School, or the Christian School of your choice.

Eloise was a member of Oak Glen URC in Lansing. She had worked as the bookkeeper in her husband, Harry's, construction company. In memory of Eloise, please do a kindness for someone else.
