Dorothy (nee Kreith) O'Brien age 78 of Griffith, IN, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019. She is survived by her loving children; Robert (Barbara) Gorzycki, David (Kim) Gorzycki, and Jim (Kerry) O'Brien. Loving grandmother of; Meagan Gorzycki, David Gorzycki, Ashley O'Brien, and USMC Jim O'Brien. Loving sister of; Elmer Kreith, and Kay (Russell) Jones, cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving parents Elmer and Agnes Kreith, and brother Joseph (Charlene) Kreith.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 PM until time of service. Dorothy will be laid to rest on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 7201 Archer Rd. Justice, IL 60458.

Dorothy was a loving and beautiful mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Dorothy loved the outdoors, she loved having picnics on a beautiful summer day while enjoying nature. She loved animals and always had a special place in her heart for them. She was a movie enthusiast always keeping up with the latest releases. She was an avid Chicago Sports fan. Dorothy enjoyed decorating and took great pride in her work. She was a wonderful cook always making wonderful dishes for her family. Dorothy knew the value of family and she displayed it over the years in many ways. She was loved by many and she will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
