David Allen Radbel, age 44 of Chicago, Illinois, formerly of Munster, Indiana passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2023. David is survived by his mother, Barbara-Radbel-Myers and step-Father Palmer Myers. Step-brother Ross Myers, his Aunt and Uncle William and Lynn Toczyl, Uncle Michael (Paula) Radbel and Aunt Diane (Tim) Hudacin, Great-Aunt Joan Filipkowski and his Niece Cassidy Rose Radbel. David is preceded in death by his father Neal R. Radbel, his brother Jonathan L. Radbel, Paternal Grandparents Bert and Joyce Radbel and Maternal Grandparents William and Louise Toczyl and Great-Uncle John Filipkowski.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, Illinois from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Rabbi Gidon Isaacs officiating. David will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana.

David was a top wheelchair basketball athlete throughout his life. He was a member of the National Junior Wheelchair Basketball Champions, 'Rollin Rebels' that was founded by his parents, a member of the NCAA Wheelchair Champions Wisconsin-Whitewater Basketball Team and was a member of Team USA on the Paralympic Team. He was very competitive and everyone knew that being a GOOD LOSER wasn't part of his DNA. He played for the Chicago Wheelchair Bulls and the RIC (Rehab Institute of Chicago) Hornets as a part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA).

David loved his family and friends and enjoying everything Chicago. He was a total Chicago sports fan (Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and Cubs) and was a huge Grateful Dead fan, following them all over the country and even to Mexico. David was a kind and compassionate person and would do anything to help anyone that needed help. David was dedicated to working with up and coming young wheelchair athletes and helping them with enthusiasm to achieve their goals. He loved music, David received a degree in Music Production from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. He was an aspiring DJ and spun in several clubs throughout Chicago. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family and his precious dog "Ramblin Rosie".
