Cheryl Dohl, age 66, of Hillsdale, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. She was born August 20, 1959, in Chicago to Roger Broholm and Mersine Comnenos. She married Michael "Mike" Dohl and he survives.

Cheryl graduated from T.F. South High School and continued on to the police academy, where she trained to become a police officer. She spent many years serving in the canine unit in Lansing, IL, and also worked as a firefighter and licensed paramedic. Cheryl loved spending her time golfing, kayaking, and horseback riding on her property in Hillsdale. She was a member of the Lakeview United Brethren Church in Camden.

Surviving besides her husband, Mike is one stepdaughter, Rhonda (Stevie) Zaluckyj; step-grandchildren, Seth and Faith; brother-in-law, Robin Adams, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Jeff) Fletcher, Robin (Jamie) Adams, Jr., Julie (Michael) Romeli, Michael (Jordan) Adams and Steven Adams; great nieces and nephews, Payton, Evan, Morgan, Ruby, Tule, Lucy, Fiorella, Kalista and Miley Lynn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Broholm; mother, Mersine (Comnenos) Matson; and sister, Lynn Adams.

Funeral services for Cheryl Dohl will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. A reception will follow at Johnny T's Bistro in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

There will be a memorial visitation at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home in Lansing, IL, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 2-6 PM.
