Brenda Jo De Laurentis (nee Cole) age 80 of Schererville, IN passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026. Brenda joins her loving husband of 54 years Nicholas Jerome De Laurentis. She leaves behind her sons Nicholas (Cristina) and Michael (Angela), both of Crown Point, IN. Survived by her grandchildren Alyssa, Jordan, Jared (mother Lynn DeLaurentis), Samantha, Matthew, Tyler Geeve and Tara Geeve. Sister Sharon (Paul Boyd). Brothers-in-law Andrew (Norene), Anthony (Antionette), and Richard (Barbara) and numerous nieces and nephews. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Wavie and Evanelle Cole, in-laws Andrew De Laurentis and Sylvia, brother Edward Cole (Jean) and brother-in-law William Langley.
Brenda was born in Chicago, IL, grew up in Lansing, IL and later retired to Schererville, IN. She was involved in church groups, choir and several social clubs. She worked at DeYoung and Sons furniture for 20+ years. She enjoyed helping raise her grandchildren and spending time with close friends and family. Brenda loved her family and friends, while always willing to help others. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all who knew her.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services for Brenda will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 beginning with closing prayers at 9:30 AM at the funeral home then proceeding to All Souls Catholic Parish at St. Ann Church, 3010 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Father Mark Kalema officiating. Brenda will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
