Barbara “Basia” Pasyk (nee Rybarczyk), “39,” passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026 after her unbelievable battle with cancer.
She is survived by her son Jason (Gina), her daughter Jennifer, her grandsons Joseph and Daniel, her brother Leon (late Patricia) Rybarczyk, her sister Ann (Tim) Johnson, brother in law Robert (late Janice) Sanbor, sister in law Debra (Larry) Gaspar, many nieces and nephews, aslew of friends, her bestie, and very special friends Allen Burk and Rachel Wisniewski.
Barb was preceded in death by her husband, “her Jimmy,” her parents Edward and Stella Rybarczyk, her parents in law Stanley and Lottie Pasyk, nearly all of the crazy 8s, and a wannabee.
Barb was a parishioner of St. Ann (All Souls) Catholic Church where she volunteered as the Ministry of Care Coordinator and Eucharistic Minister. All of her life she told people that she could have been a contender.
Above everything, Basia loved her family, her friends, her slots, her cheeseburgers, and her sweets, not necessarily in that order.
In lieu of flowers, send Double Diamonds scratch offs to her in the afterlife. If you can’t do that, make a donation to the Hospice of the Calumet Area.
Basia and family would like to offer a very special thanks to Dr. Kassar, Melissa Krusz, her Kimmy, Hanya and all of her people at the Northwest Cancer Center in Dyer, Indiana. We are so grateful for you and everything you did.
Visiitation will be Thursday, September 10 at Schroeder Lauer Funeral Home from 2:00-700 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 11, 2026 at 10:00 am at All Souls Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
