Barbara A. Bales (nee Sylvan), age 84 of Lynwood, IL, formerly of Lansing, IL, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 7, 2023. She is survived by her three children: Laura Bales, Beth (Ron) Ostrowski, and Amy Miller; eight grandchildren: Justin, Brandon (Annie), and Caden Ostrowski, Tyler Bales (Mariah Montgomery), and Andrew (Megan), Jordyn, Sammy, and Rosie Miller; and two great grandchildren: Derrick Miller and Mave Miller. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Don; and parents: Johnny and Lucille Sylvan.

Friends are invited to visit with Barbara's family on Thursday, July 13 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, IL. The funeral service will follow immediately at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Richy officiating.

Barbara had worked as the secretary for Luther East High School. She was active in her church and loved her bowling league on Tuesdays and Thursdays for many years. She only stopped because of covid. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be missed.
